I got to pick out my favorite fabrics - for inside and out.

Roomy enough to hold multiple lenses and accessories.

Yes, that is a picture of us posted on the front page of the
EAGLE TRIBUNE newspaper on Thursday, December 18th A devastating
ice storm knocked out power to hundreds of thousands of homes in S. NH, and we
were one of them. We were out of power for 8 days. It was an eye opening experience, to say the least. Without water, you cannot even flush the toilet - enough said. Our dirty

dishes are still in a bucket out on the back deck covered in ice and about a foot of snow.

We'll get them back in the spring.
We were lucky enough to get a generator a few days into the blackout,
so at least we were able to plug in a light and run the heat in a few rooms. Some residents
did not have power for three weeks - can you imagine?

While the reporter and the photographer were interviewing me at my home,
my husband Roger was being interviewed at the library by a reporter
from the Manchester Union Leader. They ran a story the same day about how residents
were utilizing the library for work and internet connection, and my husband
was one of those people that worked out of the library for the week.

The article above says:

"For the Smith Family in Windham, a tent, a gas
fireplace and the company of five children - home from school for almost
a week - took the sting out of the ice storm. "My husband thinks this is great,"
Lisa Smith said after her husband Roger, pitched a tent inside the family living
room. "We were trying to make it fun for the kids," she said. But when all
seven Smiths crawled inside, they decided the tent was cozy and ended up
sleeping there. Smith said she is worried about the laundry and dishes
piling up; the family has been without running water since the power went
off Thursday. And it's frustrating to see lights blazing all over Windham, while
her house is in darkness. But Smith considers herself lucky to have a generator.
"It hasn't been too bad," she said. "And this makes you appreciate what you have
so much more."

Amy and Pete had so much fun at their wedding. I'm thinking everyone's cheeks hurt

the next morning because everyone smiled and laughed ALL night long - including me.

The guys had so much fun together getting ready and toasting to the big day.

They decided to see each other for the first time before the ceremony. It was such a beautiful "gone with the wind" moment at the staircase.

I love this one as everyone is looking at them just before they
are to walk down the aisle and she is looking at her dad.

Taurus and Rodney tied the knot in sweet southern style down in North Carolina.

They had a way of making everone there feel like they were family - which is

very impressive considering there were 400 people at the wedding. There are

Hope everyone was on the "nice list" this year and got what they wished for from Santa.

I got the joy to attend the Ladders Christmas Party and photograph

the children while they visited with Santa. One little girl, Caitlyn, was

shy and did not want to sit on Santa's lap. However, this girl was pretty

smart, and didn't want to miss her opportunity to let Santa know what

she wanted for Christmas. So she wrote him a note. I do believe that

Caitlyn received her Barbie Doll, and not "cole".

I am excited to say that I got approved to be a Flashes of Hope photographer. My first session was held in Boston at childrens hospital the other day. I got to meet some of the most amazing kids and their families. Suddenly the hospital playroom was transformed into a photography studio. For a few moments it didn't feel like a hospital. Children who didn't want to get out of bed that morning, were suddenly smiling and having fun. Nobody really expects laughter coming from the pediatric cancer floor, but on that day there was nothing but smiles and laughter. The children got the opportunity to take a break from their routine and spend some time with their family just playing and having a good time. Here are a few captured moments.....

Apparently everyone that lives in New England decided to go to Canobie Lake Park the last weekend before school started - it was JAM packed - but we still had a blast.

The Spinning Tea Cups was the first ride of the day. . . Next it was onto the helicopter ride... (all effects SOOC - straight out of camera)
There were so many people there that day that we didn't want to wait over 45 min. to enter the water park, so we opted to get soaked by the flume ride instead . . . .
Cost to get into the park: $20

Time to wait in line: 35min

Onto the games . . . They went fishing and everyone won a prize.
I got a kick out of the look on the attendant's face - one long hot day with spinning fish.

We couldn't pass up the fun mirror . . . We even got to see the special "dog trick" show. Very impressive. But we are still not getting a dog - until they are trained to cook dinner and do laundry.
Last ride of the night - the ferris wheel at dusk.
We stopped at the top and everyone made a pinky wish . . .
A great day to end the summer . . .

MOVIE NIGHT

Third time's a charm...... Movie night was finally here after being postponed three times due to rain. The kids got to enjoy the bounce houses before the movie started. Rachel, however, did not seem to enjoy it too much.

Her friend was trying to make her happy, but Rachel still wouldn't move...... She didn't move the entire time she was in there, but the second it was time to come out she wanted to go right back in. I guess she likes to be scared......
It was all fun and games till one of the bounce houses deflated while the kids were still in it. Everyone was okay and it was back up and running in no time.
Before the movie started the kids were able to go "backstage" and got a guided tour to see how the display worked.The Movie "Toy Story" (one of my favorites) started at dusk and the kids loaded up on bugspray, popcorn, drinks and blankets and watched intently till the end. It's the closest they have come to a drive-in theatre.

It was a beautiful sunny Saturday afternoon a few weeks ago when Stacie and Brian exchanged their vows in front of friends and family. As you can see from all the medals on his chest he is highly ranked in the Air Force. True to military form, everything that day was in its place and went perfectly. And to top off the picture perfect day they were taken from the church to the Old North Bridge in a horse drawn carriage. The reception was at the Colonial Inn and was very simple and romantic. It included the cake cutting, a toast to the newly married couple by the best man and the maid of honor, and a very nice sit down dinner. It was a beautiful day followed by a great night. Swim Across America

While elite swimmers are preparing for Beijing, Guy Ferrone was preparing to dive into the cold water at Nantasket Beach for the 1oth Annual Swim Across America On Saturday, July 12th. Olympic swimmers such as Janel Jorgensen, Jenny Thompson, Craig Beardsley, Carlton Bruner, Eric Wunderlich and Glenn Mills, joined Guy and over 200 others to raise money for cancer research. Guy swam in the memory of his brother Joey Ferrone, who passed away from Multiple Myeloma last year. Over $300,000.00 was raised through the Swim Arcoss America. Here are a few images . . . .

The 2008 MASHPEE SUPER SWIM was held on Saturday, June 23rd at Otis Air Force Beach on Johns Pond. It is a Ferrone Family tradition to watch the head of the clan, Guy Ferrone, aka "Papa" compete in the yearly race. Every swimmer had to wear a bathing cap that was given to them specifically for the race. Papa did not particularly like this cap, but he wore it like a champ. Each and every year he comes away with a Gold Medal, and this year was no different. Beating out many competitors with a time of 38minutes for the 1 mile swim. Rachel was waiting patiently on the beach to greet him with a hug at the finish line. Immediately following the race, the medals were handed out to all the winners, and Papa was presented with the gold medal in his age group (65-69). Following the race, everyone enjoyed the 5 ft. long sandwiches provided by the race, which is also a Ferrone Family tradition.

SWIM ACROSS AMERICA - On July 12, 2008, he will be participating in the Nantasket Beach Swim as a member of the TUFTS Swimming and Diving Team. He is swimming in memory of his brother Joe Ferrone and to raise money for Multiple Myeloma and cancer research. If you would like to donate CLICK HERE.

Karina and Glen got married yesterday. As you remember, yesterday started out a little wet. However, by the time they were finished getting ready, the rain had stopped and it was a beautiful day. Their family and friends were so much fun, and loved to dance! They played the best Mexican music and everyone was on their feet all night. A good time was had by all.

They got married at the Immaculate Conception Church and then celebrated at the Sheraton in Portsmouth, NH - one of the cutest waterfront towns in New Hamshire. We visited Prescott Park and the waterfront. Here is a sneek peek of some of my many favorites - more to come soon .
