The 2008 MASHPEE SUPER SWIM was held on Saturday, June 23rd at Otis Air Force Beach on Johns Pond. It is a Ferrone Family tradition to watch the head of the clan, Guy Ferrone, aka "Papa" compete in the yearly race. Every swimmer had to wear a bathing cap that was given to them specifically for the race. Papa did not particularly like this cap, but he wore it like a champ. Each and every year he comes away with a Gold Medal, and this year was no different. Beating out many competitors with a time of 38minutes for the 1 mile swim. Rachel was waiting patiently on the beach to greet him with a hug at the finish line. Immediately following the race, the medals were handed out to all the winners, and Papa was presented with the gold medal in his age group (65-69). Following the race, everyone enjoyed the 5 ft. long sandwiches provided by the race, which is also a Ferrone Family tradition.

SWIM ACROSS AMERICA - On July 12, 2008, he will be participating in the Nantasket Beach Swim as a member of the TUFTS Swimming and Diving Team. He is swimming in memory of his brother Joe Ferrone and to raise money for Multiple Myeloma and cancer research. If you would like to donate CLICK HERE.
